This month I continue writing about my visits to various cruise ships, and this time it's the turn of the cruise line, Regent Cruises, as I toured its flagship luxury ship - the Seven Seas Explorer - in June. This intimately spacious ship boasts the highest space ratio in the cruise industry and also the largest suite balconies at sea.
The opulence and elegance is evident upon entering the ship, with its magnificent, show-stopping atrium staircase, through to its 375 suites – the most exclusive of which being the Regent Suite with a private in-suite spa! This bathroom definitely has the WOW factor!
As I toured the ship, you couldn’t miss the various styles of inspirational chandeliers (which are worth a separate blog in themselves!). All of this was interspersed with designer touches, such as various objet d’art, from statues to paintings (including Picasso!).
With five sumptuous fine dining restaurants to choose from, one is spoilt for choice in the types of cuisine to enjoy – two examples being the Compass Rose or the Pacific Rim. If you happen to be staying in one of the Grand suites, then you have the choice to have your own private dining room, which is ideal for a family occasion or small group of friends.
Fancy cooking yourself? Then you can take advantage of the culinary kitchen to create your own dishes, guided by an expert chef!
If, having overdone it with the food, then one can avail oneself of the exercise gym and complete this with a pampering sauna or massage.
One is spoilt for choice, with an extensive range of places to visit around the world, with interesting itineraries. Additionally, Regent’s fares include: return flight and transfers, unlimited shore excursions to illuminate the history, culture and cuisine in most ports of call, all fine dining, all premium beverages, all gratuities and wi-fi.
